We already know that the Darksaber is currently in the possession of Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian. But what if Darth Maul manages to reclaim the legendary Star Wars weapon? A new fan art reveals what Maul could look like if he once again wields the Darksaber.
In Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5 Episode 16, Maul managed to get his hands of the Darksaber after a duel with Pre Vizsla that would decide the new ruler of Mandalore. Once he defeated Viszla, Maul immediately killed his enemy and ruled over Mandalore as well as becoming the leader of the Death Watch.
So what would a live-action version of Maul with the Darksaber look like? Digital artist Raf Grassetti created an amazing artwork depicting the former Sith Lord with the weapon as well as his own lightsaber. Check it out below.
Of course, it is unlikely that Maul will show up in The Mandalorian Season 2 to take the Darksaber considering that the series takes place several years after his death. On the other hand, the artwork could help fans imagine what a Maul spin-off show would look like.
There have been speculations that a new Star Wars series focusing on Maul is currently in the works at Disney. However, this has not yet been confirmed by the studio. Nevertheless, we are hoping to get an official announcement soon.
The second episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 will air on Disney+ on November 6.
