Daredevil Showrunner Won’t Direct Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Marvel might be on the lookout for a new director for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after Disney decided to fire James Gunn, but it looks like the studio won't be able to nab Daredevil's former showrunner as a replacement if it wanted to.

Daredevil season 1 showrunner Steven S. DeKnight just recently took to Twitter to show his support for Gunn, saying that he wouldn't even consider taking on the third and final Guardians of the Galaxy movie if Marvel asked him to. DeKnight doesn't think that he'd in any way come close to Gunn's accomplishments and nor does he believe that Marvel or Disney would ever ask him to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Right now there's no knowing what kind of future lies in store for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie – Marvel still hasn't released the names of the directorial candidates to replace Gunn on the project. Of course, replacing Gunn isn't going to be easy. The filmmaker's built the comic book movie franchise from the ground up, taking an obscure superhero team and turning them into one of the most lovable groups of heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ending the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise without Gunn is going to be difficult.
