Daredevil Season Three Confirmed for Second-Half of 2018

The movies might be where Marvel excels at but the company has also done well on television, particularly with their various gritty Netflix series. It all started with Daredevil, which soon gave way to Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher, with more possibly coming. So when will we see the third season of the Netflix Marvel series that started it all?

Most of us thought it would have a 2019 release, especially after it was announced that Iron Fist season two would premiere on September 7. Turns out that isn't the case, as Netflix CFO David Wells has confirmed that Daredevil season three will be premiering in the second-half of 2018. It will be the fourth Netflix Marvel show returning to the streaming service, which is a huge surprise.

Wells confirmed this when Netflix held their Q2 earnings (via Seeking Alpha). The CFO brought up how 2018 would be filled with returning shows like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and Daredevil. It is still a bit odd having four Marvel shows return in one year but that's business for you.

The Defenders ended with a massive shift to Matt Murdock's status quo, with many thinking that the blind acrobat died alongside Elektra. However, the ending showed Murdock alive in the care of nuns, which is likely where his mother is. This looks to be the start of the Born Again arc, the story that made Frank Miller one of the comic industry's hottest writers.
