Daredevil: Born Again Temporarily Pauses Production Due to WGA Strike

The ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) has affected hundreds of film and TV productions across Hollywood. Ever since it started last week, we are starting to see the impact of the strike on the projects that are either in pre-production or filming at the moment.

Recently, we learned that Marvel Studios has decided to pause the pre-production of Blade weeks before its planned filming date as the script wasn't ready and writers are not allowed by the guild to do any work during the duration of the strike.

Now, another MCU project has been affected by the ongoing WGA strike, but it looks like the effect might just be temporary for now unlike the aforementioned Blade movie.

According to Deadline, the production of Daredevil: Born Again in New York City was disrupted by the WGA strikers yesterday.

As a result, the show decided to wrap its production for the day after 1:00 pm ET without filming any scenes for the day, but they are planning to resume today.

"WGA members on strike set up a sunrise picket at Silvercup East, where they’re supposed to be filming Daredevil, but members of the Teamster Local 817 and IATSE Locals 829 and 52 are refusing to cross the picket line," WGA East said on Twitter.

WGA strike captain Warren Leight wrote in his tweet, "Looks like we’re done for the day at Silvercup East as Daredevil has called their day in response to a #WGASTRONG picket with line help from @SAGAFTRA and #Local802. Thank you @IATSE, #Local829, and many Teamsters for not crossing the line."

The 18-episode first season of the series has been filming for a few months now and is expected to last until November this year. It is unknown yet whether the strike will have a significant effect on the show's entire production in the coming weeks or months while it is ongoing.

This is certainly not the last time that we will hear any news regarding this as several films and TV shows are still in production while the strike is ongoing. Other MCU projects such as Captain America: New World Order and Wonder Man are still filming despite the strike.
