Daredevil: Born Again Adds Broadway Actress Nikki M. James in Mystery Role

For the past few months, we've been hearing several updates about the upcoming MCU series Daredevil: Born Again as it is heading to production next month. While the plot details are being kept under wraps, the casting reports so far have suggested that the series might be a soft reboot due to the absence of the other actors from the Netflix iteration.

Now, another cast member has been recruited to the ensemble as Deadline has confirmed that Tony-winning Broadway actress Nikki M. James is joining the cast of Daredevil: Born Again. As usual, the details regarding her role are currently unknown.

She is joining the cast that already includes Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofio, Michael Gandolfini, Sandrine Holt, and Margarita Levieva. Matt Corman and Chris Ord serve as the head writers of the series. The first season is set to consist of 18 episodes, which will be the longest one yet in the MCU.

Marvel Studio has been keeping mum regarding the plot of the series although the title has suggested that it could be inspired by the "Born Again" storyline from the comics. There's also no definitive confirmation yet whether this is a continuation of the Netflix run.

James is known for starring in the Broadway hit The Book of Mormon (where she won a Tony) and the 2014 revival of Les Miserables. She appeared in TV shows such as The Good Wife, BrainDead, The Good Fight, Modern Love, and Severance. She also showed up recently in the film Spoiler Alert.

While we have no details yet regarding her role in the series, it is still exciting to learn that a talented actress like her has joined the cast and it would be interesting to see if she'll end up having a significant role or whether she will play a familiar character from the comics.
