Daniel Craig’s Bond Returns for the Last Time in First Trailer for No Time to Die

As promised, MGM has dropped the first trailer for No Time to Die. We get the return of Daniel Craig's Bond, as well as some other familiar faces like M, Q, and even Blofeld.

Here's the official description:

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Seeing that every Bond film is only as fun as its villain, we also get a good look at Rami Malek's character Safin, who is said to be some kind of cyber-terrorist. He doesn't really do or say much in the trailer, but he already has that Phantom of the Opera vibe going for him.

This is just my own gripe, but I was kind of hoping that we'll get to see Christoph Waltz's Blofeld in full form—bald and stroking a cat. I guess he's going to escape at some point in the franchise to terrorize the next Bond, so I guess it makes sense that we only see him incarcerated for now.

Speaking of the next Bond, the trailer also reveals that Lashana Lynch has been a 00 agent for two years already. Though she is Bond's replacement in the film, it's likely we'll get the more traditional James Bond by the end of the movie.

No Time to Die hits theaters April 8, 2020.
