Danai Gurira Teases Infinity War Character's Possible Return In Avengers 4

The effects of Thanos' snap in Avengers: Infinity War was undoubtedly devastating for the heroes and the fans. However, Danai Gurira still seems optimistic about a particular character's return in Avengers 4.

In Infinity War, Gurira's character Okoye managed to survive after the Mad Titan decimated half of the universe. However, Okoye was clearly distressed as she watched T'Challa turn into dust in front of her. Nevertheless, Gurira may have hinted at the King of Wakanda possibly returning in Avengers 4.

During a press conference for The Walking Dead at the recent San Diego Comic-Con (via ComicBook.com), Gurira was asked if it was more difficult to lose Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther than Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes. Gurira tried to skirt away from the question by saying that Infinity War is "a thing that is its own thing."

Scott Gimple was clearly unimpressed with the response and asked if Thanos was not successful at killing Black Panther. Gurira simply stated that she will not speak anymore since she is "part of these two franchises."

It certainly sounds like Okoye will be returning in Avengers 4. Gurira's refusal to confirm anything about T'Challa has also led to speculations that Black Panther will be back in the sequel as well.

There has been no confirmation yet on whether Okoye will appear in more Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. However, fans can rest assured that Gurira will continue to play Michonne in The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead Season 9 is expected to air on AMC this October. Avengers 4 is scheduled for release in May 2019.
