Daisy Ridley Shot Down One of J.J. Abrams' Ideas for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is an interesting beast, in that it will mostly focus on the new cast of Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), along with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), the trilogy's main villain. It's been one hell of a ride and the movie has been getting some great reactions online so it looks like the movie is going to please fans in some form or fashion.

Daisy Ridley's Rey has been the central point of this trilogy, a character with a strong connection to the Force, despite not having a family filled with Jedi (hopefully). Ridley seems to have had a great time shooting this movie, making friends with her castmates and always speaking highly of the people she's worked with, even fired director Colin Trevorrow.

The actress also speaks well of director J.J. Abrams but did reveal that she "shut down" an idea he had for Rey in The Rise of Skywalker. Here's what she told CinemaBlend during an interview, though she disappointingly doesn't tell us what the idea is, claiming that it could get brought up next year:

Going into this one, there was only one thing that he pitched me before the script was written that I said, 'No, it can't be.' I can't say [what it was] yet, but I'm sure we'll talk about it next year, because it was just something that went from the... it was just like, 'Nah,' But we didn't do that, which was a great thing.

It's clear that Ridley wants to avoid spoiling The Rise of Skywalker since even pitched ideas could give fans a clue about the movie's events. The only thing we know about this movie thus far is that Palpatine will be making a comeback, we just don't know how yet.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out this Friday on December 20.
