The Rise of Skywalker will feature the very first time that Rey, Poe, and Finn get together in a scene. Although the three have known each other for quite a while, Star Wars fans realized that the sequel heroes never really got together in the previous movies. And now, Daisy Ridley teases her character's friendship with Poe in the upcoming film, and the journey they'll embark on with Finn.
In a recent interview with JBWEBTV, Ridley says that it has been "really fun." "I hadn't properly worked with Oscar before," she said. The actress recalls that they had done at least two "tiny scenes" together. That being said, Ridley revealed that the first time you'll see both of them on screen, they would be "arguing."
She said, director J.J Abrams's "thing" is that since it's been like "a year or two" since The Last Jedi, their relationship has "grown off-screen" but the "audience haven't seen it."
"And to come into a bit of a frictious friendship is really fun because that's how friends are" she added. Ridley admits that she "really liked" Rey and Poe's bickering and that it was "fun" playing it with Oscar Isaac too. "And then John [Boyega] always being the guy like, ‘Oh my God, can we move on?' It was great!" she continued.
Ridley says there were moments in the movie that were "so, so sweet," recalling the time that the three of them hugged "for ages" in one scene. It was also "weird" because they filmed the scene when they "weren't even close to finishing" the movie yet. However, the actress thinks that it was "so moving." "That was the thing that made me think, ‘This is the last one.' Like, it's crazy!" she added.
