Daisy Ridley Compares Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Ending To Game Of Thrones Finale

It seems like everyone can't stop hyping up the final scene in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. First, it was Kevin Smith, then director J.J. Abrams, and now Daisy Ridley is getting everyone interested in how the film ends by comparing it to the Game of Thrones Season 8 finale.

Ridley recently attended the D23 Expo 2019 in Anaheim, California. While speaking to MTV, the Chaos Walking actress admitted that she has just started watching Game of Thrones and is only four seasons in. Although she doesn't know how the HBO series will end just yet, Ridley offered a statement on whether The Rise of Skywalker's ending will be as controversial as GOT's final season.

"I think this ending will be less controversial," she confidently said.

Well, we're certainly hoping that Abrams isn't aiming to outdo the show's conclusion. Will Episode IX turn Rey into the new Emperor or will Kylo Ren claim that he doesn't want to rule the First Order? We're crossing our fingers that it won't happen this December.

Although it's unlikely that The Rise of Skywalker will be more controversial than Game of Thrones Season 8, people are certainly questioning Rey's dark appearance in the film's D23 footage. Although she didn't explain too much about her character's turn to the Dark Side, Ridley did admit that "it felt really cool" to play Dark Rey.

Abrams previously teased on the final sequence in The Rise of Skywalker, revealing that it was one of the first things that were planned before production.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
