Cyberpunk 2077 Will Feature A Character Played By Cyberpunk Creator Mike Pondsmith

Throughout Cyberpunk 2077's development, CD Projekt Red has consulted with Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the Cyberpunk tabletop game that their RPG is based on. In a new issue of OXM (via GamesRadar), Pondsmith revealed that he will also play a character in the RPG.

"I have a role," Pondsmith told OXM. "I actually recorded for one role, but they came up with a different one for me, but I can't tell you much more than that. And I'm telling you that because there are a lot of fans who are going, 'He better be in the game somewhere.' So I'm in the game. I'm figuring what happens is, you know, at some point, [Johnny Silverhand] is playing his guitar and I'll come out and play my bass."

Pondsmith didn't share any details about his character but it would be cool to see him play the bass with Johnny Silverhand, the Cyberpunk 2077 character played by Keanu Reeves. The RPG owes much of its narrative to Pondsmith so it seems that giving him the role of a quest-giver who can help you explore is the perfect role.

Here's a description of the Cyberpunk 2077 game:

"Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character's cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you."

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020.
