Just when you thought The Flash's final season marks the beginning of the end for the CWverse/Arrowverse, it turns out the television company responsible for expanding the DC Universe on the small screen isn't finished just yet whether you like it or not. In fact, in case you weren't aware, The CW is set to release a new spinoff series featuring the Batfamily minus Batman himself.

The upcoming show, titled Gotham Knights is centered on the death of Bruce Wayne and how his adopted son Turner Hayes forms a surprising team to get to the bottom of his adoptive father's apparent murder. The team Hayes gathers together consists of the children of Batman's fiercest foes.

A new trailer for the show was released this week but instead of delivering hype to the DC fandom, it drew flak after revealing the caped crusader's questionable live-action design. It turns out that Bruce Wayne is wearing nothing but a cowl and a tuxedo prior to his murder and it led many to conclude that's his actual Batsuit.

On Twitter, infuriated fans expressed their dismay over Batman's latest live-action design. Check out some of the reactions below:

Other fans were willing to give Gotham Knights the benefit of the doubt, with some suggesting that the Bruce Wayne seen in the trailer isn't actually the real deal and if anything, the guy was just a random thug wearing a Batman cowl for whatever reason. While that theory seems plausible, I think we can all agree that the network has done some pretty awful creative decisions over the years.

The CW's Gotham Knights is set to premiere on March 14, 2023.
