Cruella: New Set Photos of Emma Stone in Character Shared

After the success of the Maleficent films, Disney is making another live-action film focused on a villain, Cruella. We got our first look at Emma Stone in character back in D23, and now we have some more set photos of her as well as her co-stars Joel Fry and Paul Water Hauser (Horace and Jasper).

These photos come from JustJared.

The movie is rumored to be set in the 70s and will show us the origin as to why Cruella (then Estella) becomes the animal-hating fashionista. By the looks of the photo, Cruella looks to be some kind of waitress, and it's likely that Horace and Jasper are just random thugs that she runs into (and eventually hires).

In some of the other photos, it looks like Cruella has a piece of banana stuck on her face as she eats an apple, and the words are written on the shopping window that she looks through reading: "It should be fun!"

Rumor has it that the film is also going to delve in the 70s punk scene, which I think is an interesting way to explore the character. Though she's a villain, we could see some kind of Devil Wears Prada film where Cruella ends up making a major influence with fashion.

It's also worth noting that the original live-action Cruella, Glenn Close, is attached as a producer for the film, so it's possible that this could be a prequel to the live-action 101 Dalmatians. Then again, it could go the Bumblebee direction and be a prequel/reboot. Until Disney gives us more, all we can really do is guess.

Cruella is set for a release on May 28, 2021.
