It's been quite a while since Disney released its classic puppy movie, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, but now it looks like the Mickey Mouse House is ready to bring back the spotted doggos to the big screen this time with live-action spin-off movie, Cruella.
According to a new report by The DisInsider, Disney's live-action spinoff movie Cruella is actually slated to begin production soon with sources saying that filming has been set to take place this summer in London, England. Though there haven't been that many announcements regarding Cruella (considering the fact that the Mickey Mouse House has been dealing with its other upcoming live-action projects like Dumbo, Aladdin, and of course Mulan), this new update regarding the film's production allows us to anticipate a possible 2020 release date. Maybe 2021 at the latest.
The publication also released a short synopsis of Cruella. Check it out down here:
"Estella (Cruella De Vil) lives on the streets of 1980s London with other hoodlums, where we learn the real origins behind Estella's hatred of Dalmatians."
For those who haven't been keeping track of Disney's live-action endeavors, the company tapped I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie for the 101 Dalmatians spinoff movie. Gillespie is set to replace Mozart in the Jungle director Alex Timbers who had to exit the project because of issues with the film's schedule.
Meanwhile, La La Land star Emma Stone had been hired to play the titular role of everyone's favorite fashionable Baddie.
Cruella doesn't have an official release date as of yet but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
