Crossover Between Runaways and Cloak and Dagger Heavily Teased by Marvel TV Head

They might not be on Netflix or ABC but people have been saying good things about Runaways on Hulu and Cloak and Dagger on Freeform. Both shows have some things in common since they focus on young people who have superpowers (and aren't Spider-Man) but in terms of themes and messages, they couldn't be more different. This is probably why they'd be perfect for a crossover and Marvel TV Head Jeph Loeb just teased it.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Loeb told the website that he liked Runaways since it's pretty standalone and it has characters who probably wouldn't interact with The Avengers or Defenders, given their age. However, he did say that this group of kids could be interested in a couple of other kids in New Orleans, where Cloak and Dagger stay.

"It can reference the rest of the world, but it's true to teenagers — they're not interested in what Tony Stark is doing this week or what Matt Murdock is doing this week but they might be interested in a couple of kids who live down in New Orleans and what's going on there."

One reason why fans want this crossover is because it happened a few times in the comics and they were fun when it happened. The first time was the most memorable as it happened in the main Runaways title, written by Saga author Brian K. Vaughn and drawn by Adrian Alphona. At this time, Cloak and Dagger were already adults but could relate to the plight of these kids. Sadly, their memories were erased during a scuffle with The Pride and their next team-up was much more awkward.

Since both groups are around the same age, it will make their future interaction very different from the one seen in the comics. All of the characters involved have a lot of growing to do and no parental guidance to help them so it sounds like quality entertainment.

Runaways can currently be streamed on Hulu, while Cloak and Dagger can be watched on Freeform.
