We know that the Arrowverse and Watchmen both belong under the DC banner, but the show couldn't be more far apart. What's interesting is, with the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event happening, there's actually a neat little easter egg for HBO's Watchmen.
If you look closely at this screenshot from the last episode, there's actually a billboard for HBO's Watchmen complete with the squid logo. Check it out:
It's great that Watchmen would get referenced, seeing that it's leaps and bounds better when you compare it to the Arrowverse. If anything, a lot of people are criticizing the event for being terrible all in all, but are praising it for the fantastic cameos from Tom Welling's Superman to the surprise appearance of Tom Ellis' Lucifer.
Though I am not that big a fan of The CW's DC Universe, I do have to say Watchmen is probably one of the greatest shows to come out this year. It's a faithful follow-up to Alan Moore's original comic, and it's able to tell a story that manages to keep to the original themes, but for a more present age. I'd hate to say it, but it tells its story better than Zack Snyder's film; but I guess the movie still has better CG.
For now, fans are waiting for the finale episode of Watchmen which is set to come out on HBO this Sunday night. The finale for Crisis is set to air on Jan. 14, 2020.
