Could Valkyrie Be The MCU’s Next Thor After The Release Of Avengers: Endgame?

Marvel just recently released thirty-two different character posters to help promote Avengers: Endgame, confirming the heroes that survived the chaos of Avengers: Infinity War and the heroes who had fallen victim to Thanos' (Josh Brolin) at the end of the film.

While most broke their hearts over the revelation that fan-favorite Black Panther genius Shuri (Letitia Wright) had actually been one of those who had turned to dust during the Decimation, others celebrated Valkyrie's (Tessa Thompson) status as one of those who are making their way to Endgame.

The Asgardian warrior was a fan-favorite addition in Thor: Ragnarok, and now that fans are expecting big sacrifices to be made in Endgame, some have started hoping to see Valkyrie take Erik Odinson's (Chris Hemsworth) place as Thor.

According to a new theory by CBR, it's very likely that Marvel will turn Valkyrie into the new Thor once Endgame finally passes. Many of the original Avengers stars' contracts are coming to an end, and that includes Hemsworth's. If Marvel were to pass on Thor's name to another character, then it would most likely go to Valkyrie. A female Thor isn't something new – in the comics, the mantle passed on to Jane Foster.

However, even if Marvel decides against passing the torch to Valkyrie, the studio seems intent on giving the warrior another role in the MCU. Thompson has been campaigning for an all-female team-up movie, and Marvel Studios has been supportive of the idea. In fact, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige claimed that the future of the franchise would be largely carried by female superheroes.
