Could the New Morbius Teaser be Hinting at a Sinister Six Team-Up?

Back when The Amazing Spider-Man was still a thing, Sony was set to make a Sinister Six movie. The franchise eventually fell apart, but now there are hopes for the idea to come back down the line. With the new Morbius teaser out, and a surprise appearance from Michael Keaton's Vulture, fans can't help but think, "Is a Sinister Six team-up on the way?"

Granted this felt like something that should have been included in the after-credits scene of Morbius, it seems that Sony is hell-bent on making the general audience aware that this film takes place in the same world of Spider-Man; after all, Morbius is admittedly one of the more obscure characters when it comes to the lore.

It's kind of funny how Toomes appears as well, because it kind of reminiscent of Nick Fury's appearance in the first Iron Man where he's trying to recruit Tony Stark for the Avengers. Though Morbius is defined as an antihero, I would actually love to see him go full villain first, therefore making it more meaningful when he eventually turns and tries to be a good guy.

So far, the potential Sinister Six members we have in the MCU are Venom, Vulture, Morbius, and maybe even Mysterio (in some way). That leaves us two more characters that could be introduced; Carnage is a possibility, but there's probably no way he's going to team-up with Venom.

This is all just speculation for now, but with the Sinister Six's big screen debut long overdue, fans have their fingers crossed that Sony will finally make it happen.

Catch Morbius when it hits theaters July 31.
