Could Star Wars’ Greg Gunberg be Teasing a Black Squadron Series?

Alias star Greg Grunberg might have taken the backseat in Lucasfilm's Star Wars sequel trilogy after appearing in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, however, the actor has been teasing major Star Wars news as of lat. Now, fans can't help but wonder whether Lucasfilm is planning to announce a new series based on the Resistance's ace pilots.

Grunberg has been teasing the announcement of major Star Wars news on Twitter. The announcement seems to be pretty big because Gunberg needs to wait for official confirmation from Lucasfilm's higher-ups at Lucasfilm before dropping the news.

Fans responding to Gunberg's post have been trying to guess the report. Some believe that it's a new Snap Wexley series. Others believe it has to do with the Black Squadron. Others believe that it might have something to do with Star Wars Rebels being integrated into Star Wars movies.

Grunberg's posts about the announcement have been pretty vague, so the possibilities are limitless.

Lucasfilm is going to have to recalibrate its plans for the franchise now that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have decided to exit their Star Wars trilogy. Disney CEO Bob Iger has also declared that the Mickey Mouse House intends to slow down the production of Star Wars movies, so Lucasfilm may have to focus on working on Disney+ projects like Star Wars: The Mandalorian before continuing with new trilogies like the one being prepared by Star Wars: The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson.

Lucasfilm's next release, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, premieres December 20, 2019.
