Avengers: Infinity War blew away fans and critics when it released earlier this year. Not only did it bring together the different members of the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, it also brought one of the best villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – the Mad Titan Thanos. After seeing the massacre brought on by Thanos finger-snap at the end of the film, fans have been itching for Infinity War's sequel.

Luckily, it seems like Avengers 4 might hit cinemas a bit earlier than expected.

IMAX just recently published its schedule for next year, confirming 17 films including X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Glass, Frozen 2 and Avengers 4. While the confirmation doesn't seem that surprising, the release date for the second and final installment in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie has been listed for April – a month earlier than the film's regular May release date.

Of course, IMAX's list might not really mean that Avengers 4 might screen early in the US. Marvel's films usually follow a staggered release, dropping earlier in certain parts in Western Europe, the UK and other countries outside the US. IMAX's updated release date matches the same date as what Marvel originally had for France, Germany and the UK, so the new release date may very well be for a few other countries abroad. That or Marvel is thinking of releasing the film on the same date.

Let's wait and see.

Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 03, 2019.
