Could Kevin Feige Consider Giving Doctor Aphra Her Own Star Wars Film?

There was a whole lot of surprise when Lucasfilm announced that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige would be developing a Star Wars film for everyone's favorite galaxy far, far away. Marvel has a lot of new projects now that its preparing for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and no one really thought that Feige would have the time for any other franchise.

However, now that Feige's on board Star Wars, some have begun wondering whether the producer would end up introducing Doctor Aphra on the big screen. ComicBook.com just recently wrote a speculative piece wondering whether Feige would consider giving Doctor Aphra her own Star Wars movie.

Doctor Aphra is a new Star Wars Marvel comic character who was introduced back in 2017 in the series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra. An intergalactic archaeologist, Aphra was a Force user that fellin the gray area between the Jedi and the Sith. Though she tried to do good, she regularly worked with Darth Vader and the Empire. Aphra became a fan-favorite comic book character and the Marvel comic book series became a major success, which was a surprise considering that Aphra was a totally unoriginal character that had no hereditary links to the Skywalker.

Aphra would be a good contender for a Star Wars movie, though we're not really sure what Feige has planned right now. Earlier today rumors started spreading that Feige was thinking of bringing Captain Marvel star Brie Larson on board his project as the live-action version of Ahsoka Tano, but as with all rumors, we advise fans to take the report with a grain of salt.

The latest Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, premieres on December 20, 2019.
