Could Disney+ be Working on a Secret Invasion Series?

A lot of fans thought that Captain Marvel would be dealing with Secret Invasion, but that wasn't the case when it came to the film. Rumor has come out though that Marvel Studios is working on an SI property, it won't be a movie.

As per insider Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie), Marvel Studios is planning on adapting Secret Invasion, not as a film, but as a TV series on Disney+. The show is said to include both the Kree and Skrulls, plus the new agency that will be introduced in WandaVision, SWORD. What's more, this series is said to build-up to the release of the Captain Marvel sequel.

A lot of fans had thought that the Skrulls were poorly handled in the first film, so hopefully, Marvel decides to get their characters right this time around. Though Captain Marvel showed us that Skrulls can be peaceful, it still doesn't stop their potential to be great MCU villains. Maybe they can even use this series to build-up to the Fantastic Four, seeing as the group famously clashes with the Skrulls as well.

Of course, we should just take this as a rumor for now. Plans can change down the line, but we know that there are some Disney+ series that have yet to be announced. One of them could very much be the Secret Invasion. Hopefully, we get a solid update in SDCC 2020 later this year.

The first Disney+ series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier comes out this August.
