Pedro Pascal might be playing the titular character in Jon Favreau's new live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, but the Narcos and Game of Thrones alum has been overshadowed by the show's adorable, doe-eyed scene-stealer: Baby Yoda.
While Lucasfilm has yet to announce the arrival of the second batch of episodes of The Mandalorian, some have been wondering whether Star Wars fans might get to see Baby Yoda outside of the Star Wars series. Perhaps in a movie of his own?
Now that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has culminated the Skywalker saga, Lucasfilm is finally free to explore all sorts of stories in the galaxy far, far away. Baby Yoda has been a fan-favorite character the moment he appeared in the first episode of The Mandalorian – Star Wars fans would definitely want to see The Child make his way to the big screen. According to Cinema Blend, a film with Baby Yoda in it could help ensure the success of the Star Wars franchise.
Sure, Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy may have achieved commercial success with its three billion haul at the box office, however, entries like Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker have divided the Star Wars fanbase. A Baby Yoda movie might help mend that divide.
While we're not quite sure how willing Lucasfilm would be to develop a Baby Yoda movie with the character attached to The Mandalorian, the studio has thought of a Yoda movie before, so the idea isn't entirely unlikely.
