Constantine Producer Reveals Shocking Sequel Plans Involving Jesus Christ

It has been 15 years since Constantine was released and yet people are still hoping the film would get a sequel. So what could happen in the possible follow-up to the Keanu Reeves movie? Producer Akiva Goldsman has just revealed that Constantine 2 would have featured a strange interaction between the character and Jesus Christ.

Goldsman recently joined Reeves and director Francis Lawrence in the film's reunion panel at Comic-Con@Home. Interestingly, the producer confirmed that there were several ideas for the Constantine sequel but the one that stood out was the plan to bring Jesus into the movie.

"I love that one of [John] wakes up in a cell, he has to identify a prisoner. Remember? It was [screenwriter Frank Cabello's] idea. [The prisoner] was Jesus. He comes up and he's in New York. Just…yeah we talked about a few scenes," Goldsman stated.

Now that would be an interesting meeting. Sadly, it also looks like this is a sequel that won't be happening anytime soon. Nevertheless, fans continue to hope that John Constantine's story is far from over, especially since everyone involved admitted they were eager to return for another movie.

Constantine also starred Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Tilda Swinton, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Djimon Hounsou, Gavin Rossdale, and Peter Stormare.

Do you think Constantine should get a sequel featuring Jesus Christ? What are the chances of a second film happening? Sound off in the comments below.
