Conor McGregor Joins Game of Thrones Season 7

After some rumors and whispers, it's confirmed that Game of Thrones will be getting a new cast member. And he's pretty well-known in the UFC department.

Enter Conor McGregor, who has now been confirmed to have a role in the HBO Original series. This was supposedly confirmed by UFC President Dana White, TMZ reported.

"I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show. And I'm glad he did it. It'll be great."

The clip below shows more of the interview where McGregor's dabble with dragons and divided houses of Game of Thrones was touched on.

Fan site Watchers on the Wall also got some more information on McGregor's role. It appears that his role is a pirate in Greyjoy's crew. From the looks of it, the role is just a small one, and one that doesn't require too much acting. We're still hoping that the role puts McGregor's rep in the UFC to good use—like pitting him against The Mountain or something.

Game of Thrones as it is. Just recently, author George RR Martin warned fans that they should be ready for dark times ahead. Guess he wasn't kidding about the "winter is coming" thing.

Game of Thrones will be back on HBO come summer of 2017.
