Chad and Carey Hayes, the creators of the Conjuring franchise are ready to tackle another series that follows the story of one of the most popular haunted mansions in the United States.

Teaming up with Cindy Bond and Doug Mckay under Faster Horse Pictures, a series of horror movies will be in the works regarding the LaLaurie haunted mansion. The infamous mansion is located in New Orleans which didn't allow public access since 1932. The house had the popular tale of Madame Lalaurie, the owner, who tortured and hid slaves in her mansion. Upon the discovery of her crimes, Lalaurie flew to Paris where she spent the rest of her life, and unfortunately, was never arrested.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Bond admitted that being able to cover the LaLaurie Mansion's dark history was a "major coup for Faster Horse." In addition, McKay assured that they won't hold back, in order to give the audiences the "full effect." Especially since the mansion is a very scary place. He also thought that the Hayes brothers were able to master "cinematic retellings of disturbing materials."

The Hayes brothers shared how they would love to write films such as this one, since they "get to tell true stories." They also went on about getting to incorporate real moments into films, saying that there is a "wealth of documentation of a very dark and frightening past of true events."

The house is now a popular attraction within the city and is visited by thousands of tourists every year. The building also has had multiple previous owners. But it is currently owned by Michael Walen, who is a collaborator with Faster Horse.

The LaLaurie Mansion franchise doesn't have a date set yet. For now, the writers are currently working on the first draft of the movie.
