Confirmed: Breaking Bad Movie Will Focus on Jesse Pinkman’s Story After the Finale

It's been announced recently that Vince Gilligan was writing a movie set in the Breaking Bad universe, and now we have confirmation about the film's story and where it will take place in the timeline.

As per /Film, the movie is supposed to center on Jesse Pinkman after his escape from the Nazis. Aaron Paul is set to reprise his role as Jesse, but we have no word on whether Bryan Cranston will be coming back as Walter White. At best, I expect Walter to be in the background as the news comes out that Heisenberg has finally been stopped. I doubt that the film will reveal that Walter had survived that whole ordeal with the Nazis; his character arc already ended perfectly with the series.

The last we saw of Jesse Pinkman was him driving away after Walter took all the Nazis out. With nowhere to go and no one on his side, it would be interesting to see how Jesse ends up. I have a feeling we'll be getting a return from recurring BrBa characters Skinny Pete and Badger.

For now, the farthest in the timeline that we've reached is Saul Goodman's life as Gene in Omaha. We don't know exactly what happened right after the events of Breaking Bad, so this movie will have a lot of blanks to fill in for us.

Seeing that Gilligan has made such great work with Better Call Saul, I'm hopeful that this movie will give us a satisfying conclusion to the story of Jesse Pinkman.

No release date has been set for this Breaking Bad movie.
