If you're a comic book fan then COVID-19 has at least given you a reason to check out your backlog and read everything you haven't yet. However, if you're in need of even more comics to read, acclaimed writer Jim Zub has your back. Known for his current Marvel work, Zub has made two of his indie graphic novels free for anyone to download in PDF form.
The graphic novels in question are Skullkickers Vol. 1 and Wayward Vol. 1, both of which can be downloaded here via Zub's Patreon page. Don't worry, you don't need to be a Patreon to be able to download it. For those that want more, keep in mind that he's giving this to you for free and there aren't a lot of writers that are currently making their comics free to read.
Skullkickers is one of the comics that made Zub a well-known name to fans since it managed to mix comedy and action really well. The fantasy setting also opened up opportunities for Zub, which led to him working on Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder comics, which is a pretty big step up. He is also the new writer for Marvel's Conan the Barbarian, all thanks to this kooky little title.
Wayward is one of his more well-known comics, with a lot of fans digging the Buffy the Vampire-like premise but in Japan. This comic also opened up more opportunities for Zub since it proved that he could write comics about young people. He would later write Champions for Marvel.
