Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them did a pretty good job of bringing back J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World back to the big screen last year, grossing at over $800 million at the global box office.
The Harry Potter franchise now has a second film series to add to its belt, and fans are excited to learn more about the relationship between Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander and Albus Dumbledore in the face of the growing war between the Hogwarts Headmaster and Gellert Grindelwald, one of the most dangerous Dark Wizards of all time.
Now that Colin Farrell's Percival Graves has been revealed to be Johnny Depp's Grindelwald using Polyjuice Potion, many wonder whether the real graves will turn up somewhere in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2. Unfortunately, the chances seem pretty dim.
When asked by MTV whether Farrell's character would return to the film series, this was the Irish actor's reply:
"It was always written that that was it."
Farrell's theory on where the real Grave's been hidden away?
"Maybe he's buried in a shallow grave and he's going to die of starvation 17 hours after the film ends."
It's pretty morbid, but it sounds a lot like an answer Farrel will give. Though fans would certainly like to see the real Graves make a comeback, the franchise would most likely want to move on to more pressing matters such as the war between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, and then more of Newt's magizoological adventures.
Rowling is writing the script for Fantastic Beasts 2 which is said to begin production this fall.
