Chris Pratt had teased last week that filming would start on Jurassic World 3 soon, and now it looks like things are officially underway. Just in, we now have the official title of the third installment.
This was posted up on director Colin Trevorrow's Twitter, and it confirms that the third movie will be called Jurassic World: Dominion. Check it out:
While we don't have an official plot synopsis for Dominion yet, we know that the Fallen Kingdom ends with the dinosaurs escaping Isla Nublar and finding themselves scattered around the Earth like actual animals. Based on the short Battle at Big Rock, we know that some families have opted to hide in the mountains, seeing that just one dino could lead to some serious destruction in their path.
Though a lot of fans weren't happy with the Fallen Kingdom, I really like that the movie took a risk and gave us the ending we got. For now, the world of Jurassic really has become a Jurassic World, and it would be interesting to see just how the humans cope with that. I mean, we've already seen multiple takes on the zombie apocalypse, but rarely do we get something like the dinosaur apocalypse.
Besides returning characters like Owen and Claire, I'm eager to see what's happened to Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm since the first film.
Catch Jurassic World: Dominion when it hits theaters June 11, 2021.
