Coffee Prince follows the story of Ko Eun-chan (played by Yoon Eun-hye), who is her family's breadwinner. She works hard to make ends meet, with several part-time jobs to help her.

Eun-chan is considered a tomboy because a man typically does her chosen jobs. It doesn't help that she wears baggy clothes and has short hair. This, however, does not bother her since she is determined to help her family.

Eun-chan meets Choi Han-gyul (played by Gong Yoo), who mistakes her for a man. Han-gyul opens a cafe and hires Eun-chan as a barista.

The cafe is called Coffee Prince to attract female customers to frequent the place. To do this, Han-gyul only hires male employees who are good-looking. Since Eun-chan is desperate to earn money, she hides her gender from her colleagues.

He starts to have feelings for Eun-chan while getting confused by his own preferences.  Han-gyul hires Eun-chan to pretend to be his gay lover so his family will stop setting him up on blind dates.

Eun-chan also falls for the chaebol but has to keep her mouth shut for fear of losing her job.

After finally confessing his feelings to Eun-chan, Han-gyul believes he no longer cares what other people will think. So when his ex-girlfriend, Han Yoo-joo (played by Chae Jung-an), tells him the truth, he feels betrayed.

At this point, Han-gyul has questioned his sexuality and felt various emotions. So when he discovers that Eun-chan is actually a woman, he becomes angry at this.

He later realizes he doesn't need to be angry with Eun-chan or fight his feelings for her. Their relationship, however, doesn't seem to have a real ending since Eun-chan decided to leave for Italy to study.

When she returns, though, the two go on with their relationship. Han-gyul teases marriage but Eun-chan seems to be evading the idea.

We sincerely hope the two will have a reunion project. Their on-screen chemistry is undeniable!
