After the action-packed and dramatic finale of Cobra Kai Season 4, fans of the Karate Kid sequel series are left with many questions leading into Cobra Kai Season 5, and they've been waiting for any crumb of news for the upcoming episodes. Thankfully, we have some exciting news. Not only did Netflix announce a release date, the streamer also released a new teaser trailer that features Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) and Chozen.
Of course, the sensei-protagonists Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) will be back for more action, and it looks like we will see more of Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) and Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) going at each other.
Considering production for Cobra Kai Season 5 concluded in late 2021 before Season 4 was even released, fans were hoping that they won't have to wait for long until the next season comes out on Netflix. After all, unlike other Netflix Original shows like Stranger Things and The Witcher, which require a lot of visual effects in post-production, Cobra Kai shouldn't take as long.
Fans may have to wait a bit longer for the release of Cobra Kai Season 5, but the good news is that they won't have to wait until December 2022.
Cobra Kai Season 5 Release Date Announcement
Since Season 4 was released in December 2021, it's safe to assume that Cobra Kai Season 5 will be released in December 2022. However, that's not the case.
In the first week of May 2022, Netflix annnounced during their Netflix is a Joke comedy festival that Cobra Kai Season 5 is set to release on September 9, 2022. While some fans may be disappointed that the new season won't arrive on the streaming service this summer, that release date is actually closer than what many expected since the show is known for releasing new seasons around December.

The good news is that Netflix has already released a teaser trailer for Cobra Kai Season 5, which highlights Terry Silver's ambituous mission to expand the Cobra Kai dojo across the whole valley. It looks like Daniel LaRusso is motivated to take him down.
