Cobra Kai Season 5 Trailer Teases Karate War Brewing In The Valley

Netflix finally released the trailer for the upcoming Cobra Kai Season 5. After the event of the All-Valley Karate Tournament back in Season 4, Cobra Kai is now returning to Netflix for its fifth season. The Karate Kid sequel series puts Johnny Lawrence (William Zapka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) in their most vulnerable position, as the Cobra Kai empire of Terry Silver has rapidly expanded across the town, and his victory during the tournament forced Miyagi-Do to close down.

Cobra Kai Season 5 is scheduled to be released on Netflix on September 9th. One month ahead of its release, Netflix finally released the official trailer for the upcoming season, allowing the fans to get a glimpse of what’s to come. You can check out the trailer for Cobra Kai Season 5 below:

In the final scene of Cobra Kai Season 4, it shows Daniel reuniting with his former rival, Chozen, hoping that they can take down Silver and his dojo together. It’s no surprise to see Chozen being featured in the official trailer for Season 5.

Following the debut of Cobra Kai Season 4, the co-creator of the show, Hayden Schlossberg was interviewed by ComicBook.com and revealed what Chozen’s surprise cameo at the end of the season could mean for Season 5.

"When Daniel went to Okinawa [in Cobra Kai Season 3], we saw that Chozen had lived this life of shame, coming off the events of Karate Kid II," Schlossber explained during the interview. "And that Daniel coming to Okinawa gave him an opportunity to redeem himself in his eyes. And we always felt that he showed him a couple moves, but he's always going to feel that responsibility to help Daniel."

"And so, the fact that at the end of Season 4, things are worse than they've ever been," he added. "Cobra Kai is more popular than it's ever been, with Terry Silver relishing it and in full force and Daniel supposedly having to shut down Miyagi Do. That when you think about it from Daniel's perspective, what does he have to come back from this?"

Cobra Kai Season 5 is set to be released on Netflix on September 9. Cobra Kai Season 1-4 is also available to stream on Netflix.
