There was a lot of shock and heartbreak when S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson (Clark Greg) died in the very first Avengers movie. Appearing in Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and in Thor, Coulson had become a staple, and fans became fond of the high-ranking member S.H.I.E.L.D.
Though the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel TV series revealed that Coulson had survived the bullet that supposedly killed him in Marvel's very first Avengers team-up movie, the character wasn't allowed to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – until Captain Marvel, that is.
Set in the 90's, Brie Larson's first standalone movie a Captain Marvel will see the return of Gregg's Coulson to the MCU. Not only will the film feature the agent's very first major super-powered S.H.I.E.L.D. assignment, but according to Gregg, Captain Marvel will also feature the beginning of the agen'ts working relationship with Nicky Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).
Speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gregg talks about a cute moment when Coulson meets Fury, and it looks like fans are going to love the scene between characters in Captain Marvel.

It really sounds like it's going to be a delight to see Agent Coulson again on the big screen. We can't wait to see the agent and the agent's different quirks when he appears in Captain Marvel.
