Adult Swim has just dropped a big one. The latest teaser for Rick and Morty confirms that we'll be seeing the live-action versions of Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith. And if that's not crazy enough, they actually cast Christopher Lloyd as Rick.
The Adult Swim official Twitter account shared the new teaser for Rick and Morty Season 5 and it features the Back to The Future star with IT: Chapter 2 actor Jaeden Martell as Morty. In the video, the duo steps out of a portal and realizes they have become live-action. Rick declares, "Morty [BURRRPP] we're home." As expected, Morty responds, "Aw geez."
The clip titled C-132 has already gained 1.6 million views on Twitter and is expected to truly go viral. So it's no surprise that Rick and Morty fans have caused Lloyd's name to trend on the social media platform because, well, this is amazing casting.
The new clip is clearly a big-budget teaser for the Rick and Morty Season 5 finale but it also answers a question that fans have been asking for a long time: Who are the best actor to play the mad scientist? Luckily, it looks like the animated show agrees that the only correct answer is Lloyd.
But are we ever getting a full-length live-action Rick and Morty feature? At this point, anything could happen on the show and we might get a great surprise in the Season 5 finale.
The last two episodes of Rick and Morty Season 5 are titled Forgetting Sarick Mortshall and Rickmurai Jack. Both episodes will premiere on Adult Swim on September 5, 2021.
