Christoper Nolan's Tenet Casts Yesterday Star

Christopher Nolan may have gone smaller with his last film Dunkirk, but he's going back to blockbusters with the upcoming Tenet starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson. Just in, the movie has just cast its latest star.

According to Variety, Yesterday lead Himesh Patel has been cast in the film. No details have been released about Patel's role, but we know he's joining a cast which includes the likes of Elizabeth Debicki, Clemence Poesy, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh, and —surprise, surprise— Michael Caine.

We don't have an official story for Tenet so far, but there's a rumor going around that the film will be like "James Bond with time-travel." We know that Nolan is obsessed with non-linear storytelling, so it would be interesting to see what he could do with a movie that deals with time-travel. He pretty much made dream invaders realistic with Inception, so I'm excited to see how he could make time travel work with the espionage genre.

Earlier today, a teaser for Tenet had actually leaked online, and it featured John David Washington as the lead. It has suddenly been taken down, but with a lot of people having already seen the trailer, I imagine Warner Bros would just want to go ahead and release it officially.

Then again, it's possible they could wait another time. After all, fans are expecting the release of the new Joker trailer today, and WB would probably want all the attention on that.

Tenet is set for a release on July 17, 2020.
