Christian Bale Says Robert Pattinson Should Ignore Haters, Compares The Batman Star To Heath Ledger

There have been so many memorable Batmans out there but most people still go back to Christian Bale as being the Bruce Wayne who should be giving out advice on how to play the Caped Crusader. Not surprisingly, the Academy Award winner has once again been asked for his advice for Robert Pattinson, who will take over in Matt Reeves' new film. The surprising twist was that Bale actually made a comparison between Pattinson and the late Heath Ledger.

Bale recently spoke to Extra while attending the Toronto International Film Festival. Interestingly, the Dark Knight Rises star gave Pattinson the thumbs up for nabbing the role in The Batman then stated that the Twilight actor should just ignore the haters.

"Just make it his own. Don't listen to the naysayers at all," Bale said before reminding everyone how people initially reacted to Ledger's casting in The Dark Knight.

"Think about it. Everybody protested when Heath was cast as the Joker and look what an absolutely brilliant performance he gave. Don't listen to those guys. Do his own thing. He is a fascinating actor. He is a great choice," Bale concluded.

Well, it sounds like Bale is all about Pattinson's casting in The Batman. Better yet, he made sure that people remembered how they initially felt about Ledger being cast as Joker and how the late actor simply blew everyone away. We're hoping that Pattinson will do the same thing as the new Caped Crusader.

The Batman is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
