It goes without saying that Chris Pratt has had a pretty good tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the de facto leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Now, with the third and final film just around the corner, fans are beginning to speculate what's next not only for the Star-Lord actor but for his co-stars as well.

For months, James Gunn has been hyping up GOTG Vol. 3 as the last time we'll see the Guardians together on the big screen and it doesn't look like anything can stop his desire to close the chapter on the beloved franchise, not even Marvel Studios.

Now, where does that leave Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klemetieff, and Karen Gillan? Well, it looks like Gunn has major plans for his MCU cast and a potential move to a different universe seems plausible.

Speaking with Empire, the DC Studios co-head teased their potential jump to his "other job" aka the DC Universe. Gunn said: "This cast are like my family. I cannot tell you how close I am to Chris Pratt and Pom [Klementieff] and Dave [Bautista] and Zoe [Saldaña] and Karen [Gillan]. But I also know I will work again with all those people individually again. Probably at my other job."

Realistically speaking, Pratt and his GOTG compeers have done everything there is to do in the MCU and at this rate, they no longer have anything to prove. The most logical move for them is to join Gunn over at the DCU and help him build the franchise from the ground up.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' third and final Guardians of the Galaxy film hit cinemas on May 5, 2023.
