Chris Pratt's Super Mario Bros. Movie Releases First Poster

There has been a lot of curiosity about the upcoming Super Mario Bros. animated movie ever since they announced that Chris Pratt was cast to voice the iconic video game character. As we're heading closer to its anticipated trailer release, we now have our first look at the animated take on the iconic video game franchise.

The Super Mario Bros. animated movie has unveiled its first poster ahead of the release of its first official teaser trailer this Thursday during the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation.

The poster gave us a glimpse at the animated world with Mario front and center (although they only showed his back). Based on the design, it is very similar to the video games and Mario himself looks pretty accurate to the character design that we've known for decades.

While the poster didn't give us any idea about what the story will be, it did give us an indication that the design that they chose for the animated movie is very similar to the video games and they remained loyal to the source material as far as the look is concerned.

Obviously, it remains to be seen how far they'll go in keeping with the source material until we see either the trailer or the film itself. In addition, fans are also very curious to see what Pratt's voiceover work will sound like and whether he actually did the Italian accent or not.

Besides Pratt, the cast also includes Anya Taylor-Joy (as Peach), Charlie Day (as Luigi), Jack Black (as Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (as Toad), Seth Rogen (as Donkey Kong), Fred Armisen (as Cranky Kong), Kevin Michael Richardson (as Kamek), Sebastian Maniscalco (as Foreman Spike), and original Mario voice actor Charles Martinet in an undisclosed cameo role.
