Chris Hemsworth May Not Star In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 After All

Avengers: Endgame may have closed the story arcs for original Avengers characters like Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), however, the film left an open thread for Thor, allowing the Asgardian God of Thunder to leave together with the Guardians of the Galaxy at the very end of the film.

While fans believe the scene as an indicator that Thor might have actually joined the Guardians, it's possible that fans actually might not get to see Odinson in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Hemsworth just recently announced his plans to take a break from acting, saying that he wants to spend some time with his family.

"This year I probably won't shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids. They are at a very important age," the actor told the press (via ComicBook.com), "They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before. I have this year where I'm probably not going to shoot anything. I have a press tour, a few endorsements and bits, and pieces, but mostly just be home."

Of course, the actor deserves a whole lot of R&R. Hemsworth has been pretty busy in the last few years. The actor starred in Thor: Ragnarok back in 2017. Not long after that, he worked on the back to back production of Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie (Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame). Now, the actor is preparing to release another film: Men in Black: International.

Hopefully, the actor doesn't take too long a vacation. Fans are still hoping to see the actor appear alongside Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and Karen Gillan in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
