Chris Hemsworth recently opened up about the divisive reception of Thor: Love and Thunder now that two years have passed since the film's release.

Despite being a solid box office hit, the fourth installment in the Thor series received polarizing reviews among fans and critics as some of them felt that the film went overboard with the humor.

So far, Marvel Studios has not announced any plans to do a fifth Thor movie or Hemsworth's future in the MCU in the aftermath of the disappointing reception.

In a recent interview, Hemsworth opened up about the divisive reception of Thor: Love and Thunder and revealed his major regret about his work on the MCU film.

He admitted that he blamed himself for the film's disappointing results as he went overboard with the "wackiness" and became a "parody" of himself.

"I got caught up in the improv and the wackiness, and I became a parody of myself. I didn’t stick the landing," the actor said.

While he would like to work on more projects with many acclaimed filmmakers, Hemsworth also thinks that he owes the audience another Thor movie that will hopefully be better than the previous installment.

It is clear from Hemsworth's comments that everyone involved in the film was aware of the disappointing reception that they received and perhaps it will help guide them in the potential fifth installment as they figure out how to overcome the issues from Love and Thunder.

For now, let's wait and see whether Marvel Studios will announce a new Thor movie soon since Hemsworth is seemingly open to doing another installment that would put the film series back in the right direction.
