Disney fans were horrified when they finally got to see Will Smith's Genie in all his blue-bodied glory. The Mickey Mouse house dropped a new TV spot for its live-action Aladdin movie during the Grammys, and the video featured fans very first look at Smith's version of the iconic character, only to be shocked by the CGI. Ever since then, Smith's Genie has been the butt of all sorts of jokes, the image of the character being compared to other popular blue villains like Star Wars Rebels' Admiral Thrawn.
Now, Smith's Genie is getting the superhero treatment with the character being reimagined as Avengers: Infinity War baddie Thanos (Josh Brolin). It's hilarious what the internet's been doing to Genie – honestly, we can't stop laughing from all these great edits.
Fans on Twitter simply turned Smith's Genie purple.

It's really fun what bored netizens have turned Genie into. Mashing up Smith's debut as Genie in the Aladdin TV spot along with the big scene between Thor (Chris Evans) and Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War is absolute perfection. Thanos has always been a serious villain, but now he has a fun, creepy side too.
Hopefully, Disney will take the hint from all these different edits and memes. The studio still has a lot of time to make a few color and visual effects corrections on Smith's Genie, so they better do it while they can. They wouldn't want Aladdin to flop now, would they?
