Disappointed by the way that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker focused on pandering to fanboys instead of offering a proper culmination to the Skywalker saga, Star Wars fans were pleased to find that Colin Trevorrow's original script for the movie make its way online.
Now, it looks like there's a brand new animated video playing out the events of Trevorrow's script. Mr. Sunday Movies just released a short animated video based on the original script for The Rise of Skywalker and we've got to say, it doesn't look half bad.
While the animated clip lasts for only five minutes and a half, the whole video clocks in for around 10 minutes, offering fans some behind-the-scenes footage of Ethan Taylor's animation process.

Titled the Duel of the Fates, Trevorrow's script for Episode IX has major narrative differences with The Rise of Skywalker. Not only does Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) have a bigger role in the film, but Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) has more to do as a Force Ghost, interacting with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Of course, the most significant difference between The Duel of the Fates and The Rise of Skywalker is Emperor Palpatine. Darth Sidious isn't resurrected the same way he is in Abrams' movie, and he has very little to do with the narrative of Episode IX.
The Jurassic World director was originally hired to develop The Rise of Skyawlker, however, Trevorrow's creative differences with Lucasfilm forced the filmmaker to exit the project. When Trevorrow left, Lucasfilm brought in Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams to take his place.
