Netflix has a lot of impressive original programming under its belt, and they've had some impressive animated shows come out over the years. This September will see the adaptation of Luke Pearson's Hilda, and Netflix has just dropped the first trailer.
Hilda follows the adventures of a fearless blue-haired girl as she travels from her home in a vast magical wilderness full of elves and giants, to the bustling city of Trolberg, where she meets new friends and mysterious creatures who are stranger - and more dangerous - than she ever expected.
Also known as Hildafolk, the original comic had been going on since 2010, and has won several awards, including Best Book Series, and the Young People's Comic Award from the British Comic Awards. The books also received an Eisner nomination for Best Publication for Kids as well as Best Writer/Artist.
Fans of the original will love the art style as it stays very faithful to the book. Personally, I really like the warm atmosphere of the show; it's like something out of Gravity Falls and Over the Garden Wall.
Check out Hilda when it hits Netflix on Sept. 21.
