As a songwriter, Charlie Puth worked on several albums of other artists throughout 2015. He co-wrote and produced Jason Derulo’s songs “Broke” and “Pull Up” for his album, Everything Is 4, and worked with Bonnie McLee to co-write “Bombastic” under the same LP.
He also produced CeeLo Green’s “Working Class Heroes (Work)” for his album Heart Blanche.
Come 2016, it was Charlie Puth’s time to shine when he released his debut studio album, Nine Track Mind, 2016, featuring the single “One Call Away,” peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
He then became Deutsch Music’s first musician when he signed to the music label in 2016.
His second studio album, Voicenotes, came out in 2017, featuring the hit song “Attention,” which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its music video, alternatively, now has almost 1.4 billion views as of this writing.
