The 30-year-old singer-songwriter’s career started on YouTube in 2009. He became a viral sensation after posting his own music, and from there, the rest was history.

He then won the video competition Can You Sing? in 2011. After that, he signed to Ellen DeGeneres’ music label, eleveneleven, and performed on her namesake show.

As a songwriter, Charlie Puth worked on several albums of other artists throughout 2015. He co-wrote and produced Jason Derulo’s songs “Broke” and “Pull Up” for his album, Everything Is 4, and worked with Bonnie McLee to co-write “Bombastic” under the same LP.

He also produced CeeLo Green’s “Working Class Heroes (Work)” for his album Heart Blanche.

Come 2016, it was Charlie Puth’s time to shine when he released his debut studio album, Nine Track Mind, 2016, featuring the single “One Call Away,” peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
