Charlie Cox Confirms Tom Hiddleston Convinced Him to Sneak Into Spider-Man: No Way Home Screening

There is little doubt that fans were delighted when Matt Murdock showed up in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Although the character's cameo was brief, it was enough to have people celebrating the return of Daredevil to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Charlie Cox was initially unsure about how audiences would react to his appearance in the film. Luckily, Loki star Tom Hiddleston convinced him to sneak into a screening of the movie!

Charlie Cox had already confirmed that Tom Hiddleston is the only person he told about his Spider-Man: No Way Home cameo. After all, the two actors are close friends who worked together on a stage play back in 2019 and Cox knew he could trust his fellow MCU star.

"One of my first phone calls, when I found out I was coming back, even though I was trying not to tell anyone, I was living in fear for two years of it being leaked, it was this big surprise," Cox told Comicbook.com. "When I was on the set I was wearing the thing everywhere, blah, blah. One of my first phone calls, and I knew I could tell him because I also knew he knew, was Tom Hiddleston, he's one of my best friends."

He continued by sharing how Hiddleston told him what to do when No Way Home is finally out in theaters.

"He said to me, and he was shooting Loki at the time, so he'd spoken to those guys, and he knew, and they knew we were friends, and all that stuff, so he knew about it. I spoke to him, and he said to me, 'Whatever you do, when the film comes out, you've got to sneak into the back of a theater, because it will go crazy.' And I remember thinking, no it won't," Cox said.

We already know what happened when Cox snuck into a theater full of people watching No Way Home. According to the Daredevil star, the audiences didn't really have a big reaction to the cameo but fans have since assured him that they were blown away by Matt Murdocks' surprise appearance.

For now, it is unclear when we will see Daredevil again but there's a huge chance Charlie Cox will continue playing the character soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
