Charlie Cox Doesn’t Want To Play Another Hero Outside Daredevil

Daredevil's cancellation might have inadvertently given Charlie Cox room to explore other superhero characters in Marvel, however, it looks like the Matt Murdock actor isn't ready to let go of his suit just yet.

While the future of Daredevil remains highly uncertain, Cox has no intention of moving on and playing another superhero role in the near future, not when he's still mourning the loss of the critically-acclaimed comic book series.

Speaking in an interview with CNET to help promote his upcoming film, King of Thieves, the Marvel star was asked whether he planned to try his luck playing other heroes in Marvel or in other franchises like the DCEU. Despite his experience and his potential, Cox admitted that he didn't want to play anyone else outside of Daredevil, saying he wasn't sure when his feelings would change.

"I certainly wouldn't want to play another superhero anytime soon," Cox said. "I still feel part of Matt Murdock. That sounds like a really wacky thing to say, but I've been playing him for five years and I haven't rid myself of that character yet."

There was so much heartbreak when Netflix announced that it had decided to cancel Daredevil. The streaming giant just recently dropped the show's third batch of episodes, and both fans and critics had nothing but great things to say about the new season.

Now, fans continue to fight for the series, writing petitions asking Netflix to reconsider the cancellation and to bring back Daredevil into its fold. While it seems unlikely for the streaming company to go back on its word, we're hoping that the series finds its way to air again.

Daredevil season 1, 2, and 3 are available for streaming on Netflix.
