Is Chainsaw Man Coming on DVD?
Yes! According to a recent announcement by studio MAPPA, Chainsaw Man is coming soon on Blu-ray and DVD.
While disks of all sorts are less common than they used to be and are almost considered vintage after the rise of streaming services, there's an unbeatable feeling to owning a physical copy of your favorite shows without relying on an internet connection all the time.
Many fans will be happy with the news that the anime is coming out on DVD, all the more so because it comes in special packaging!
The Blu-ray version of Chainsaw Man will come with a special storage box in which the protagonists pose to pay homage to iconic films.
Denji's image imitates an iconic snapshot from The Shining (1980), Aki gives strong Clockwork Orange (1971) vibes, Power presents as the poster from Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003), and Pochita takes us back to Jurassic Park (1993).
All the abovementioned movies were iconic in their time, and their over-the-top elements mark an affinity with Chainsaw Man, making the box set a fun treat for fans.
The first volume of the Chainsaw Man Blu-ray edition will include Episodes 1-3, while we expect the rest to arrive in due course.

Chainsaw Man Blu-ray Release Date
The official Chainsaw Man Twitter account has confirmed that the Chainsaw Man Blu-ray and DVD release date will be Friday, January 27, 2023, for Volume 1.
Volume 1 will include Episodes 1-3 only, but the recent tweet advises fans to stay tuned for Volume 2 and beyond. This suggests more fun updates along the way.
There are 12 Chainsaw Man episodes in the first season. Therefore, there will be a total of four DVD disks to buy covering Season 1.
While all the DVD sets are going to come out later in 2023, they're all available for pre-order.
Here are the release dates for the later volumes:
- Volume 2 (Episodes 4-6): February 24, 2023
- Volume 3 (Episodes 7-9): March 31, 2023
- Volume 4 (Episodes 10-12): April 28, 2023
The official Chainsaw Man website includes additional information about the DVD release, as well as details about a special ticketed event in Tokyo.
There will also be a May 2023 event that will involve live performances by artists, appearances by cast members, and access to exclusive merch.
