Recently, a video has circulated online about how Argentine presidential candidate Javier Milei is being compared to Chainsaw Man’s Pochita. This comparison was drawn in a new segment from an Argentinian network.
Along with these, there are also images online of a political rally of Milei that shows him holding up a Pochita plushie, thus strengthening the comparison.
Argentine Presidential Candidate Draws Pochita Comparisons
Despite not appearing much in both the anime and the manga, Pochita is still one of the main mascots of Chainsaw Man. After all, he is the reason Denji became a Hybrid, not to mention that he’s incredibly adorable.
Pochita can be seen all over Chainsaw Man merch, but now, he’s becoming part of the Argentine election cycle.
Recently, Argentinian news channel Canal 5 Noticias (C5N) aired a segment about Javier Milei, comparing him to Pochita. This video was noticed by fans online and has since circulated on sites like Reddit and X.
The news segment specifically showed images and clips of Pochita, who is called a dangerous and sinister character. Presidential candidate Javier Milei is then compared to the Chainsaw Devil.
This comparison seems totally out of the left field, but there is a reason for this.
In Milei’s ongoing campaign, he has used a chainsaw to symbolize his plans to tear apart the current political establishment.

Why Javier Milei Is Getting Chainsaw Man and Pochita References
Amidst Argentina’s ballooning inflation, Javier Milei has become a frontrunner in the upcoming Argentinian presidential election.
In various reports, Milei has been compared to far-right former heads of state like the US’ Donald Trump and Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro. This is because of his radical campaign promises and populist rhetoric.
Milei’s campaigns have seen the presidential candidate swing a chainsaw over his head to symbolize his plans. This has resulted in “Chainsaw!” becoming a battle cry for his supporters.
Because of this, it makes sense that he has been drawing Chainsaw Man and Pochita comparisons. After all, Chainsaw Man is a popular manga and anime that also has a significant fanbase in Argentina and Latin America.
From the looks of it though, the Pochita comparisons are mostly visual and coincidental to his use of chainsaws for his campaign.
In fact, Chainsaw Man fans on Reddit criticized the recent Pochita news report for not making sense.
