CD Projekt Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Cyberpunk 2077

It looks like CD Projekt's troubles with the failed launch of Cyberpunk 2077. A new report reveals that the publisher is now facing a class action lawsuit for several alleged violations of federal securities laws.

The report from Polygon reveals that New York-based firm Rosen Law Firm filed the lawsuit in a California court on Thursday, December 17. According to the law firm, it filed the suit on behalf of several investors who purchased stock between January to December this year.

The lawyers alleged in the lawsuit that CD Projekt made "false and/or misleading" statements about Cyberpunk 2077 that led to their clients investing in the title. The suit also accuses the publisher of not disclosing that Cyberpunk 2077 was buggy and "virtually unplayable" on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It was also confirmed that the lawyers are seeking an unnamed amount of damages for investors. In addition to that, Rosen Law Firm issued a press release calling on other investors who are interested in joining the litigation to contact them.

For now, a class has not yet been certified. CD Projekt has yet to comment on the lawsuit.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10 for Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. It didn't take long for gamers to find several bugs and glitches in the title, leading to several copies being sent back to retailers who have no choice but to provide full refunds.
